Kiaora! so for the last two weeks i have been on a summer camp with 7 other excahnge students from teh southern hemisphere and 6 other students that just came to france for the 2 weeks of the camp, they came from America and around Europe. during the summer camp we got to do lots and lots of different activities, so here goes.......
For the first week we changed host families every second night so we got to experience a range of different lifestyles of french people. the first week with moving alot though was very tiring. but fun as well.
during the camp we visited some gardens full of beautiful flowers and plants from around france.
We also went to Les Sables D'Olonne and visited the town and the beach.
In Les Sables D'Olonne there is the smallest/skinniest road in the world, it is in the guiness world record books.
it starts wider....
but as you walk down it....
it ends up very very Skinny.....
this photo is taken beside a river that one of our host families lives at, they lived in a big scary Chateau and the first night driving there the man we were staying with ran over and killed not 1 but 4 birds at separate times!!!
we went to a famous horse place in which they bread all different kinds of thorough bread horses. this was my favorite horse, Isn't it beautiful? looks like Black Beauty if you ask me.
It rained quite alot for the first week of camp. the photo below is of a couple of my exchange friends from Australia and i at PuyDuFou.
this is my favorite show at PuyDuFou it is of the Romans and it is a huge stadium with wild animals and knights and sword fighting ect. really really well put together.
In the second week of camp we all stayed in the a camp in Lucon in Cabbins. During the second week we did quite alot of exercise. we went Canoeing for 6 hours one day, we also went kayaking and sailing and bike riding. i have to say out of the camp the Canoeing was the worst. It was fun for the first 2 hours but after that it seemed to go on for ages and everyone had sore arms. These photos are from our 40km bike ride, unfortunately for me though it was a 48km bike ride because we rode to far ahead of the tour guide and went to far and had to turn around and come back, we all had to wear these very sexy yellow vests. We rode along a gravel road for most of the time with fields of Sunflowers on either side of the bike track. i had to pick some pretty flowers to pimp me bike out with. My bike was by far the prettiest.

In the second week of camp we also got to go on a little tour in this tiny plane, It Was so cool, the plane went on its side so we could see the ground directly below where we were. after i got off the plane though my body felt really really strange. but it was so awesome and had to be one of my favorite things we did throughout the camp. My Mummy would have hated it along with some of the other students who were nearly sick.
on the 14th of July it was France's national day and in the morning we all took part in a parade holding our flags from around the globe and singing the french national anthem. After lunch we went and spend the afternoon on a long beautiful beach and did some tanning. That night we went and watched an amazing firework display .
a few other things we did during the camp was visit a few churches, Played mini golf, we had a tour of La Roche Sur Yon, watched movies, went dancing at the local club a few times, i also got to see all the tour de France cars and trucks and some of the riders after their hard day of riding at the roadside mechanics with there bikes. Unfortunately i didn't get to see a race.
It was a really good two weeks and i didn't want to leave, got to see my other exchange friends and i got to meet even more people from around the world. And as of what i'm doing now well I'm in the countryside with a family from my rotary club and well be staying here for just over a week and then i am moving to my third host family, glad to be getting away from my last :) was a tad hard with them.
i am now officially 6 months through my exchange with another 6 months to go.
Aunty will be here in 35 days.
Mum, Dad and Kate will be here in 127.
Missing everyone heaps at the moment and loving you all.
Lots of Love Esther xoxoxoxooxoxo
